Why You Need Title Insurance
General counsel and director of business development at BETA Abstract, attorney Marc Rovner has been working in the title insurance industry for over two decades. Based in East Rockaway, New York, Marc Rovner oversees offices as far afield as Boca Raton, Florida, and teaches continuing education in the area of title insurance.
Most all lenders require title insurance to be purchased as part of the loan process, but many homeowners don’t entirely understand what title insurance covers. One of the main things that title insurance is meant to protect against is undisclosed liens. Banks and other lenders may be able to place liens on a property even after the property is sold if the previous owner failed to settle outstanding financial obligations.
Another common title issue is mistakes in public records. If there is a filing error or other clerical mistake in the property’s documents, it must be remedied once discovered. Title insurance covers the cost of those remedies.
In addition, title insurance also protects against forged documents. If property documents are discovered to be forgeries, this could jeopardize your rightful ownership. Title insurance would cover the financial risk of losing the property.

Rangers Sign College Free Agent Patrick Khodorenko
Based in East Rockaway, New York, Marc Rovner is a Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Silver Award honoree who serves as senior staff attorney at the multi-million-dollar title insurance company BETA Abstract, LLC. Outside of his professional pursuits, attorney Marc Rovner enjoys following his favorite sports teams. He is a lifelong fan and season ticket holder for the National Hockey League's (NHL) New York Rangers.
The Rangers improved their organizational depth on March 10 by signing highly regarded college free agent Patrick Khodorenko to a 3-year, $2.775, million entry-level contract. A 21-year-old native of Walnut Creek, California, Khodorenko played in the United States Development Program before enrolling at Michigan State University in 2016. He recorded 18 points in his freshman season, and had at least 30 points in each of the following three seasons.
This past season, Khodorenko led the Spartans in scoring with 33 points (16 goals and 17 assists), and had the fourth-most points among players in the Big Ten conference. The 6-foot, 206-pound center didn't miss a game in his collegiate career, which is a testament to his durability. He is expected to play out the remainder of this season with New York's AHL affiliate in Hartford.

Children Shine at New York Rangers' Garden of Dreams
Attorney Marc Rovner of East Rockaway, New York, possesses more than three decades of legal experience and serves as general counsel and director of business development at BETA Abstact, LLC, a multimillion-dollar title insurance company with offices in several states. In addition to being a fan of the National Hockey League's (NHL) New York Rangers, attorney Marc Rovner is a supporter of the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation seeks to create memorable moments for children facing a variety of challenges. The foundation has impacted more than 350,000 children over the past decade with assistance from partner organizations such as Children's Aid, Encourage Kids Foundation, and multiple Make-A-Wish chapters.
The New York Rangers play a vital role in helping these children realize their dreams through its annual Garden of Dreams celebration. The 2019 event took place on December 16 during the Rangers game against the Nashville Predators. Make-A-Wish recipient Gianna Henrickson, who is confined to a wheelchair, attended her first Rangers game and dropped the ceremonial puck to start the game.
Moreover, the national anthem was sung by the sister of Garden of Dreams participant Rachel Mason, who has undergone 17 surgical procedures in the past nine years. Logan Riman, who is blind, played the keyboard. Other Garden of Dreams participants stood alongside Rangers players during the national anthem.
